Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 12x17 inch rimmed cookie sheet.
Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together salt, baking soda, and flour. Gradually add to the wet mixture until combined.
Press the dough evenly into the prepared cookie sheet and bake for about 15 minutes until lightly golden.
Let the cookie bars cool completely in the pan.
For the frosting, beat the softened butter until smooth, then gradually add powdered sugar, milk, almond extract, and orange food coloring until creamy.
Spread the frosting over the cooled cookie bars and sprinkle with Halloween decorations.
Cut into approximately 36-40 pieces and serve!
