Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6-8 drops neon green food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.
  • In a medium bowl, combine sugar, flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Whisk well.
  • Add eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and water to the dry mixture. Stir until smooth.
  • Reserve about 1/4 cup of the brownie batter in a small bowl for later.
  • In another bowl, beat cream cheese with 1/4 cup sugar, 1 egg, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth. Add neon green food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish. Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter.
  • Drizzle the reserved brownie batter on top and gently swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.

Notes

Store brownies in an airtight container for up to a week. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
