Ingredients
  

Filling

  • 4 large large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced Granny Smith, Honeycrisp or Fuji apples recommended
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice To toss the apples

Topping

  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup almond flour Can substitute with oat or coconut flour
  • 1/2 cup nut butter of your choice For added flavor
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey Adjust to taste for sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup protein powder Optional but recommended
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts or almonds) For added crunch

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with a small amount of oil or cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with lemon juice, tossing them to coat evenly.
  • Spread the apples in the prepared baking dish.
  • In another bowl, mix together the oats, almond flour, protein powder, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  • Add the nut butter and maple syrup (or honey) to the oat mixture. Mix until everything comes together and forms a crumbly texture.
  • Spread the crumbly topping evenly over the apples in the baking dish and press down slightly.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until the apples are tender and the top is golden brown.
  • Once baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes
