  • 2 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite blend) Feel free to mix different cheese types
  • 1 tablespoon butter For cooking
  • 1/2 cup cooked and seasoned protein (beans, chicken, or tofu) Choose according to preference
  • 1/4 cup sautéed onions and peppers (optional) Adds extra flavor and nutrition
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • as needed Salsa or hot sauce for serving (optional) Enhances flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Start by heating a skillet over medium heat.
  • Mix the cooked protein along with sautéed onions and peppers in a bowl.
  • Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the mixture, stirring until well combined.

Cooking

  • Place one tortilla in the skillet and sprinkle half of the shredded cheese evenly over it.
  • Spoon the protein mixture onto the cheese layer, spreading it evenly.
  • Top with the remaining cheese and place the second tortilla on top.
  • Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom tortilla is golden and crispy.
  • Carefully flip the entire burrito using a large spatula, adding butter to the skillet if needed.
  • Cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes until it turns golden brown and the cheese melts inside.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool for a minute.
  • Cut in half and serve warm.
