Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh calamari, cleaned and sliced into rings Start with fresh calamari for the best texture.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter Divided for frying and sauce.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced For enhancing the butter sauce.
  • 1 large lemon, juice Adds brightness to the dish.
  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Rinse the calamari rings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Cooking

  • Dredge each piece of calamari in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil and half of the butter over medium-high heat until melted.
  • Working in batches, add the calamari rings to the skillet and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Transfer the cooked calamari to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  • In the same skillet, add remaining butter and minced garlic, sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the fried calamari back to the skillet with lemon juice and toss to coat.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

Consume immediately for the best texture. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days; reheat in an air fryer or oven.
