Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a loaf pan by lining the bottom with parchment paper and spraying the sides with non-stick spray.
In a large bowl, whisk together whole wheat flour, rolled oats, salt, and baking soda until evenly combined.
Add dark brown sugar and mix well.
Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Pour in molasses, Guinness, buttermilk, honey, and melted butter.
Stir gently until just combined to form a thick dough. Avoid overmixing.
Transfer dough to prepared loaf pan. Cut a line down the center of the dough as a vent and sprinkle a pinch of rolled oats on top.
Bake for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few crumbs.
Let bread cool in pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Slice and serve warm with Irish butter or your favorite toppings.

This bread is delicious fresh but also freezes well. You can customize with seeds, herbs, or dried fruits for unique flavors.
