Irresistible French Onion Beef Sloppy Joes

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef (85% lean)
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add sliced onions and cook for about 10-12 minutes until caramelized, stirring often.
  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes.
  • Drain excess fat, then stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Toast hamburger buns until golden brown.
  • Spoon beef mixture onto the bottom half of each bun and top with shredded Swiss cheese.
  • Place the top bun over each sandwich and serve immediately.
