Ingredients
  

  • 1 box white boxed cake mix plus ingredients specified on the box (eggs, water, oil)
  • 1 can prepared white frosting
  • as needed red, yellow, and green food coloring
  • 6 pieces small Tootsie Rolls cut in half for stems
  • as needed edible googly eyes
  • 12 pieces cupcake liners either paper or silicone

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions, adding red and yellow food coloring to tint the batter orange.
  • Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  • Pour the orange batter into each liner, filling them about two-thirds full.
  • Bake according to the package instructions, typically around 15-20 minutes, and check for doneness with a toothpick.
  • Once baked, cool the cupcakes in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cool, trim the tops of the cupcakes to create a flat surface.
  • Color the frosting orange and green, then frost each cupcake with orange frosting.
  • Stack one cupcake upside down on top of another to create a pumpkin shape and insert a Tootsie Roll stem into the top.
  • Pipe on green frosting leaves around the stem and add edible googly eyes to finish decorating.
