white boxed cake mix
plus ingredients specified on the box (eggs, water, oil)

red, yellow, and green food coloring

Instructions
Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions, adding red and yellow food coloring to tint the batter orange.
Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
Pour the orange batter into each liner, filling them about two-thirds full.
Bake according to the package instructions, typically around 15-20 minutes, and check for doneness with a toothpick.
Once baked, cool the cupcakes in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Once cool, trim the tops of the cupcakes to create a flat surface.
Color the frosting orange and green, then frost each cupcake with orange frosting.
Stack one cupcake upside down on top of another to create a pumpkin shape and insert a Tootsie Roll stem into the top.
Pipe on green frosting leaves around the stem and add edible googly eyes to finish decorating.
