Ingredients
  

  • 1 Tbsp. oil vegetable or canola
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ tsp. ginger minced
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tsp. sesame oil
  • ½ tsp. crushed red-pepper flakes adjust to taste
  • green onions for garnish (optional)
  • sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • white rice for serving

Instructions
 

  • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, crumbling it with a spatula. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  • Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  • Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet. Sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and crushed red-pepper flakes.
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked beef. Stir well and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until heated through and slightly thickened.
  • Remove from heat and serve hot over rice, garnishing with green onions and sesame seeds as desired.
