Equipment

  • Loaf Pan
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Lentil Flour
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Honey or Maple Syrup optional
  • 2 tablespoons Ground Flaxseeds
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Herbs optional (rosemary, thyme, etc.)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or prepare a baking sheet if making a round loaf.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine lentil flour, salt, and baking powder. Add water, olive oil, and honey or maple syrup (if using), and mix until the dough forms.
  • If the dough is too thick, add more water one tablespoon at a time until it reaches a smooth consistency.
  • Transfer the dough into a greased loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until golden brown. Check by tapping the bottom of the loaf—if it sounds hollow, it's done.
  • Allow the bread to cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different herbs and spices. You can add garlic, rosemary, or even some cheese to change things up!
