Ingredients
  

Burger Patties

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for frying

Burger Assembly

  • 4 pieces whole wheat burger buns toasted if desired
  • to taste lettuce leaves
  • to taste tomato slices
  • to taste red onion slices

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until fully incorporated.
  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1/2 inch thick.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken patties.
  • Cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side, then carefully flip the patties over and cook for another 5-6 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  • Alternatively, preheat your grill to medium and cook the patties for the same amount of time.

Assembly

  • Once the patties are cooked, place them on the burger buns and top with lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion slices.
  • Serve immediately for the best flavor and freshness.
