Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1.75 cups 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cups 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 0.5 cups 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Use room temperature butter for best results.
  • 0.75 cups 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 1 large egg Use room temperature egg.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Add-ins

  • 0.5 cups 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cups 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 0.33 cups 1/3 cup marshmallow fluff (optional) Can be omitted if desired.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and mini marshmallows.
  • Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the edges are set and the centers remain soft.
  • Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
