  • 1/8 teaspoon chili powder Can adjust according to spice preference.
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips For a richer chocolate flavor.
  • 1 dash salt Enhances the overall flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds depth to the taste.
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional) For an extra kick.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients on a clean kitchen counter.
  • In a medium-sized saucepan, pour in 4 cups of milk and warm it over medium-high heat without letting it boil.
  • Once the milk is warm, whisk in 1/4 cup of cocoa powder and 1/3 cup of sugar until fully combined.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/8 teaspoon of chili powder, mixing well.
  • Stir in 1/2 cup of milk chocolate chips and a dash of salt, whisking continuously until the chocolate melts.
  • Keep whisking for about 5 minutes, ensuring the mixture is hot but not boiling.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and the pinch of cayenne pepper if desired.

Serving

  • Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and enjoy it plain or with toppings like whipped cream, marshmallows, or a sprinkle of cinnamon.
