Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and miso paste until smooth and well combined.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips gently, ensuring an even distribution throughout the dough.

Baking

  • Use a spoon or cookie scoop to drop dollops of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
