Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef High-quality beef like ground sirloin or chuck recommended for better flavor.
  • 8 ounces noodles Can use egg noodles, rice noodles, or chow mein.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For cooking.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Use fresh for best flavor.
  • 1 medium onion, sliced For additional flavor.
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced Any color works.
  • 1 cup broccoli florets Fresh is preferred.
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned Adds sweetness to the dish.
  • 4 stalks green onions, chopped For garnish and added flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Low-sodium variety can be used.
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar For sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch For thickening the sauce.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust based on preference.
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish Optional, adds texture and flavor.

Instructions
 

Cooking the Noodles

  • Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain them and set aside.

Preparing the Beef and Vegetables

  • In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and sliced onion. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the onion turns translucent.
  • Add the bell peppers, broccoli, and carrots. Cook until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

Mixing and Serving

  • In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch. Add this mixture to the skillet.
  • Stir well to coat the meat and vegetables evenly. Let it cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Toss the cooked noodles into the skillet and mix everything thoroughly.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in the chopped green onions just before serving.
  • Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds.

Notes

For a healthier version, swap regular noodles for whole grain or zucchini noodles. Adjust spiciness according to preference by adding chili sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for longer storage.
