  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • a pinch salt

Optional Toppings

  • sprinkles For decoration
  • crushed candies For added texture
  • additional chocolate chips For extra chocolate flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and prepare a large mixing bowl.
  • In a saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter and chocolate chips together, stirring continuously.
  • Once melted, remove from heat and mix in the creamy peanut butter and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, pour in the Rice Krispies cereal.
  • Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal and gently fold to coat evenly.
  • Transfer to a 9x13-inch baking dish, spread evenly, and press down lightly.
  • In a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar and a pinch of salt, then sprinkle over the top.
  • Allow to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes or until set, then cut into squares.
  • Add any optional toppings if desired.

Notes

To achieve the best results, melt chocolate and peanut butter gently and use fresh Rice Krispies. For a nut-free version, substitute with sunflower seed butter.
