Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound assorted mushrooms, sliced Mix of button, cremini, and shiitake recommended.
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can be substituted with plant-based alternatives.
  • 1 cup vegetable broth Ensure it's vegetarian-friendly.

Spices and Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme Fresh thyme can also be used.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Adjust to taste.

Toppings

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Use gluten-free if desired.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice) A blend of cheeses can enhance flavor.
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped For garnish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic, sautéing until the onions become translucent.
  • Add the mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they release their moisture and begin to brown.
  • Stir in the heavy cream, vegetable broth, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let simmer for 5 minutes.

Assembly

  • In a separate bowl, combine breadcrumbs and shredded cheese.
  • Pour the mushroom mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Top the mushroom mixture with the breadcrumb and cheese blend.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes
