Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs Should be at room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix-ins

  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use quality chocolate for best flavor.
  • 1 cup Oreo cookies, crushed About 8-10 cookies.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and crushed Oreo cookies using a spatula.
  • Scoop tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving enough space between each cookie.

Baking

  • Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are light golden brown.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For the best cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. They can be paired with milk or vanilla ice cream for a delicious treat. Store leftover cookies in an airtight container.
