For the Peanut Sauce

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter Use high-quality or natural peanut butter.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1-2 teaspoons chili garlic sauce Adjust for spice level.
  • 1/4 cup warm water Add more for desired consistency.

Optional Garnish

  • chopped fresh cilantro For garnish.
  • crushed peanuts For garnish.

Preparation

  • In a medium mixing bowl, add the creamy peanut butter.
  • Pour in the soy sauce, honey or maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and chili garlic sauce.
  • Whisk the ingredients together until well combined, ensuring no lumps remain.
  • Gradually add warm water, a little at a time, while whisking until the sauce reaches your desired consistency.
  • Taste the sauce, adjusting sweetness or spice level as needed by adding more honey or chili garlic sauce.
  • If desired, garnish with chopped fresh cilantro and crushed peanuts before serving.

Notes

For longer storage, consider freezing the sauce in an ice cube tray. Thaw when needed.
