Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, cut into strips You can also use flank steak or round steak.
  • 2 pieces bell peppers, sliced (one red and one green) Add other vegetables like carrots or mushrooms for variation.
  • 1 piece onion, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening) Mix with water to form a slurry before adding.
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Slice the beef sirloin into strips, and chop the bell peppers and onion uniformly.
  • In the crock pot, combine the beef strips, sliced bell peppers, and onion. Stir gently to mix.

Making the Sauce

  • In a separate bowl, combine beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, ground black pepper, onion powder, and salt. Stir well.
  • Pour the sauce over the meat and vegetables in the crock pot and gently mix to ensure even coating.

Slow Cooking

  • Cover the crock pot and set to cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours.

Thickening the Sauce

  • 30 minutes before serving, mix a teaspoon of cornstarch with water to create a slurry and stir it into the crock pot to thicken the sauce.
  • Check seasoning towards the end and adjust if necessary.

Notes

Serve over rice or noodles, garnished with green onions or sesame seeds. Freezing leftovers is an option; allow to cool before storage.
