Ingredients

Filling Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef Use quality ground beef for richer flavor.
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 medium bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened Ensure cream cheese is softened for easy mixing.
  • 2 cups shredded provolone cheese

Dough Ingredients

  • 1 package refrigerated pizza dough Can substitute with homemade pizza dough if preferred.
  • 1 egg beaten For brushing over the breadsticks.
  • Optional fresh parsley, chopped For garnish.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it apart with a spatula. Once browned, drain any excess fat.
  • Add the chopped onion, diced bell pepper, and minced garlic into the skillet. Cook until the vegetables soften, about 5 minutes.
  • Season the mixture with salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine and cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Remove the skillet from heat and mix in the softened cream cheese until fully combined. Then, stir in the shredded provolone cheese.
  • Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface. Cut it into strips about 1 inch wide and 6 inches long.
  • Take a spoonful of the filling and place it at one end of each dough strip. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal it.
  • Place the filled breadsticks on the prepared baking sheet. Brush them with beaten egg for a golden finish.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the breadsticks are golden brown.
  • Once they are done, let them cool slightly before serving.
