  • 2 sheets Puff Pastry Keep cold until ready to use.
  • 3/4 cup Nutella Can substitute with other chocolate spreads.
  • 1 large Egg For egg wash.
  • 1 tablespoon Powdered Sugar For dusting, optional.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and thaw the puff pastry for about two hours.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unfold one sheet of puff pastry on the parchment paper.
  • Spread Nutella evenly across the first sheet of puff pastry.
  • Layer the second sheet of puff pastry on top of the Nutella-covered sheet.
  • Cut out the shape of a Christmas tree from the layered pastry.
  • Create 1-inch strips from the sides of the tree and twist each strip.
  • Cut out 2 to 3 stars from scraps and place one on top.
  • Mix the egg with a tablespoon of milk or heavy cream for egg wash.
  • Brush the tree with egg wash.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
  • Dust with powdered sugar after baking for a snowy effect.

Serving

  • Serve warm on a large platter, possibly surrounding it with festive decorations.
  • Slice into sections and offer with ice cream or whipped cream.
