Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, garlic powder, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
Stir in 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese.
In another bowl, mix melted butter, buttermilk, and eggs until smooth.
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and fold gently until just combined.
Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
Cover loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
