  • 1 large egg At room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Mix in the red food coloring until fully incorporated.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the white chocolate chunks.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.

Baking

  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are crisp and centers are soft.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
