Ingredients
  

For the Sloppy Joe Filling

  • 1 pound ground turkey or beef Choose according to preference
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons brown mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For Assembly and Decoration

  • 12 pieces Kings Hawaiian Rolls, split
  • as needed Cherry tomatoes For decoration, cut in half for noses
  • as needed Black olives For decoration
  • as needed White sliced cheese For decoration, cut into circles for eyes
  • as needed Raisins For decoration, cut in half for pupils
  • as needed Pretzel twists For decoration, broken for antlers

Instructions
 

Preparation of the Filling

  • Heat a large saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the ground turkey or beef and cook until no longer pink, stirring occasionally.
  • Drain off the excess fat.
  • Mix in the ketchup, water, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, brown mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer and cover.
  • Let it simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Assembling the Sliders

  • Split the Kings Hawaiian rolls in half.
  • Scoop a generous portion of the Sloppy Joe mixture onto the bottom half of each roll.
  • Place the top half of each roll cradling the meat mixture.

Decorating the Sliders

  • For the noses, place a half cherry tomato on the front of each slider.
  • Cut small circles from the white cheese slices and attach them to serve as eyes.
  • Cut the raisins in half and place them on each cheese circle for pupils.
  • Break pretzel twists in half and stick them into the top of each slider to create antlers.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container, separating the meat from the bread to maintain texture. Refrigerate for up to 3 days or freeze for about a month.
