  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Use room temperature butter.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed Light or dark brown sugar works.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract Pure vanilla extract recommended.
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark) Choose according to preference.
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce Store-bought or homemade.
  • to taste sea salt flakes For sprinkling on top.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips, then carefully add the salted caramel sauce, ensuring it remains swirled and not completely mixed in.
  • Using a cookie scoop or your hands, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Lightly sprinkle sea salt flakes over each cookie dough ball for an added touch of flavor.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
  • Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
