Sausage Feta Honey Pizza

Ingredients
  

Pizza Base

  • 1 piece Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil For brushing the dough

Toppings

  • 1 pound Italian sausage Or any preferred sausage
  • 1 cup Feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Tomato sauce For the base sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Honey For drizzling on top
  • 1 cup Fresh basil leaves For topping after baking
  • to taste Salt and pepper To season
  • to taste Red pepper flakes Optional, for a kick

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up into small pieces with a wooden spoon.
  • Drain any excess fat from the sausage.
  • Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface until it's about 12 inches in diameter.
  • Transfer the rolled dough to a pizza peel or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Lightly brush the dough with olive oil.
  • Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly across the sauce.
  • Add the cooked sausage on top of the cheese.
  • Crumble feta cheese over the sausage and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.

Baking

  • Slide the pizza onto the heated stone or bake it directly on the baking sheet for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and immediately drizzle with honey.
  • Top with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.

Notes
