  • 1 pound ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, diced Cremini or button mushrooms work best
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Your choice of cheese
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded For freshness and crunch
  • 1 cup tomatoes, diced Adds color and flavor
  • Your favorite sauce Ranch, garlic sauce, etc.
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For sautéing

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add diced mushrooms and sauté for about 5 minutes until tender and browning.
  • Stir in ground beef, seasoning with salt and pepper, and cook for 7 to 10 minutes until fully browned.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese over the beef and mushrooms, stirring until the cheese melts.
  • Cut each pita in half to create pockets.
  • Fill each pita pocket with the beef and mushroom mixture, adding lettuce and diced tomatoes on top.
  • Serve with your favorite sauce on the side.
