Noodles

  • 2 packages 2 (3 oz) packages ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets)

Sauce

  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil Use toasted sesame oil for richer flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic Freshly minced for best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 2 teaspoons sriracha sauce Adjust for desired spice level.

Preparation

  • Start by bringing a pot of water to a rolling boil. Add the ramen noodles and cook according to package instructions (3-5 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, being careful not to brown it.
  • Mix in the soy sauce, brown sugar, and sriracha into the skillet with the garlic. Stir until the sauce bubbles and thickens slightly.
  • Add the drained noodles to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
  • If needed, return the skillet to low heat for a minute to warm the noodles through.
  • Serve the ramen in bowls, garnishing with sliced green onions or sesame seeds as desired.
