  • 1/2 cup chopped onion Adds sweetness and flavor.
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery Provides a crisp texture.
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper For color and taste.
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced for flavor.
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour Thickens the soup.
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce Adds depth of flavor.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Season according to preference.
  • Chopped parsley for garnish For a fresh finishing touch.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and equipment, including a large pot.

Cooking

  • Turn your stove to medium heat and add the butter to your pot. Allow it to melt slowly.
  • Once the butter is melted, add the chopped onion, celery, green bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté until tender, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Sprinkle the flour over the sautéed vegetables, stirring for about a minute to coat.
  • Gradually pour in the seafood stock while stirring to avoid lumps. Allow simmering for around 5 minutes.
  • Add the heavy cream and sweet crab meat to the pot. Stir gently to combine. Add Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and pepper.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let the soup simmer for about 15 minutes.
  • Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
