Ingredients
  

  • lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ¾ cup salsa
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • ½ tsp. dried oregano
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • Taco-sized tortillas flour or corn
  • Toppings as desired shredded cheese chopped lettuce, chopped tomato, chopped onion, fresh cilantro, avocado, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream

Instructions
 

  • Place chicken breasts in a pot, cover with water, and simmer until cooked through, about 10-15 minutes.
  • Remove chicken and let it rest for 5 minutes, then shred using two forks.
  • Return shredded chicken to the pot and mix in salsa, chili powder, cumin, oregano, and garlic powder. Heat for 5 minutes.
  • Warm tortillas in a pan over low heat for about 30 seconds on each side.
  • Assemble tacos by adding the shredded chicken mixture and your favorite toppings to the warm tortillas.

Notes

Store leftover shredded chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat before serving.
