  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, diced onion, and bell pepper. Cook until the meat is browned and vegetables are tender, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  • In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley until smooth.
  • Spread the garlic butter mixture generously over the cut sides of the bread.

Baking

  • Place the bread, butter side up, on a baking sheet, and toast it in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Once the bread is done, remove it from the oven and spoon the sloppy Joe mixture evenly over the toasted side.
  • If desired, sprinkle grated cheese over the top.
  • Return the bread to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, then slice into portions and serve warm.
