Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted Make sure it's melted but not hot.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg yolk At room temperature.

Add-ins

  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips Use semi-sweet or dark chocolate for best results.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir until evenly mixed.
  • In another bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Add the egg yolk to the wet mixture and mix well until fully combined.

Mixing and Baking

  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  • Drop dollops of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are slightly soft.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
