Ingredients
  

For the cobbler base

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted Make sure it's melted but not hot
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup water Do not stir into the batter
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Incorporate the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the batter.
  • Slowly pour the water over the entire surface of the batter without stirring.

Baking

  • Place the cobbler in the preheated oven and bake for about 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving.

Notes
