Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure butter is softened but not melted.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Ensure it's well-distributed.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Chocolate Chips

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Add for rich chocolatey taste.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  • Add the vanilla extract and eggs, and beat until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them a couple of inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 9 to 11 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Allow cookies to cool completely before storing in an airtight container. For longer storage, layer between parchment paper and freeze for up to three months. Consider pairing with milk or ice cream for serving.
