  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it is at room temperature.
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Use room temperature.

Mix-Ins

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt, then set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, blending well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
  • Bake for 9-11 minutes, until cookies look slightly underbaked.
  • Let cookies cool on baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
