Ingredients
  

For the cookie dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Must be at room temperature for easy mixing
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar For the cookie mixture and additionally for rolling
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds flavor and aroma
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Main dry ingredient
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans work well) Adds a nutty flavor
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances flavors

For rolling

  • 1 cup powdered sugar Used after baking for the snowy appearance

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter and powdered sugar.
  • Cream these ingredients together until smooth and fluffy.
  • Add the vanilla extract and mix until fully incorporated.
  • Gradually add the all-purpose flour, salt, and chopped nuts, mixing gently until a cohesive dough forms.

Baking

  • Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, looking for light golden edges.
  • Remove from the oven and cool slightly on the baking sheet.
  • While still warm, roll each cookie in powdered sugar and allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
