Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter Use creamy for a velvety texture.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs Ensure they are at room temperature.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour Spoon and level for accuracy.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips Optional for extra decadence.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until smooth and well-blended.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture, and beat until fully combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until mixed well.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring with a wooden spoon or spatula until fully combined. If desired, fold in chocolate chips.
  • Scoop tablespoons of dough and roll into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing about two inches apart.
  • Using a fork, gently press each ball to create a crisscross pattern on top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges start to turn golden and the centers appear soft.
  • Allow cookies to rest on the baking sheet for five minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
