  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced Overripe bananas work wonderfully for this recipe.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar Consider using brown sugar for a richer taste.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ground cinnamon, to taste (optional) Can add extra flavor.
  • Whipped cream or ice cream for serving (optional) Enhances the dessert experience.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until combined.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently to create a batter.
  • Grease a baking dish with a bit of butter or cooking spray. Pour the batter into the bottom of the dish.
  • Evenly distribute the sliced bananas over the batter. Sprinkle a little ground cinnamon on top if desired.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top turns golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow it to cool slightly before serving, as it will be very hot.
