  • 2 packs packs of ramen noodles
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 boiled egg boiled egg (optional, for topping)
  • 2 green onions green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions
 

Cooking the Noodles

  • Prepare a large pot of water and bring it to a rolling boil.
  • Cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions (about 3-4 minutes).
  • Once cooked, drain the noodles and set aside.

Making the Sauce

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add vegetable oil and allow it to heat up.
  • Pour in the sesame oil.
  • Sauté minced garlic for approximately 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add minced ginger and cook for another 30 seconds.
  • Stir in gochujang and let it cook for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and chili flakes, stirring until the brown sugar dissolves.
  • Pour in chicken broth and water, stirring continuously, and bring to a gentle simmer for about 3-4 minutes.

Combining Noodles and Sauce

  • Add cooked ramen noodles to the sauce, ensuring they are thoroughly coated.
  • Let the noodles cook in the sauce for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Season with black pepper before serving.

Serving

  • Ladle spicy ramen noodles into bowls.
  • Top each bowl with boiled egg halves, chopped green onions, and sesame seeds.
