Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract (if using), mixing until well combined.
Gradually add the flour, baking powder, salt, and cornstarch, stirring just until combined.
Spread the dough evenly in the prepared baking pan.
Bake for about 15 minutes, or until lightly golden around the edges.
Allow to cool completely in the pan before frosting.
For the frosting, beat together the softened butter, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract until fluffy.
Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled cookie bars.
Decorate with spooky sprinkles and Halloween eyeball candies.
Slice into squares or rectangles and serve!
