Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Use room temperature butter for best results.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg Use a room temperature egg.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sprinkles (optional) Add for decoration.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with cooking spray or butter.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

Mixing

  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until smooth and fluffy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and beat until well combined.
  • Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • If desired, gently fold in the sprinkles.
  • Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan, pushing it to the edges.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and cool for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes
