Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 4 cups broccoli florets Fresh for best texture
  • 2 cups cooked rice White, brown, or cauliflower rice

Sauce Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce Adjust for saltiness
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup For sweetness
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha or hot sauce Adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil For cooking
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions chopped For garnish
  • to taste salt and pepper For seasoning
  • sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cook the rice according to package instructions. Set aside once cooked.
  • In a large skillet or wok, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant.

Cooking

  • Add the ground turkey to the skillet. Break it up with a spatula and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, honey or maple syrup, and sriracha. Adjust spiciness.
  • Once the turkey is cooked, add the broccoli florets to the skillet. Stir and cook for another 5 minutes until tender but still crisp.
  • Pour the sauce over the turkey and broccoli mixture. Stir well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat.

Serving

  • Divide cooked rice into bowls, top with the turkey and broccoli mixture. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
