  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Use fresh chicken for best flavor.
  • 1 bottle Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce (about 18 oz) This is the key ingredient for flavor.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Adjust for desired sweetness.
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar Adds tanginess to the sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For mixing the sauce.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Enhances flavor.
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning the chicken.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper on both sides.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and olive oil. Whisk until well-blended.
  • Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the crockpot and pour the sauce mixture over the top.

Cooking

  • Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours, or on high for 2 to 3 hours, until the chicken is fork-tender.

Serving

  • Once done, use two forks to shred the chicken in the crockpot and stir to combine with the sauce.
  • Serve the chicken over rice, in sandwiches, or with tacos and salads.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the refrigerator, or freeze for 2 to 3 months. Reheat with a splash of water or BBQ sauce.
