  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes Adjust to taste
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients in one place to make the cooking process smoother.
  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the entire bottle of Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce with the apple cider vinegar, red pepper flakes, brown sugar, and garlic powder. Stir until well-blended.
  • Arrange the boneless, skinless chicken breasts evenly in your crockpot.
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken breasts, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
  • Cover the crockpot with its lid and set it to cook on low heat for about 4 to 6 hours, checking for an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • Once cooked, remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred it using two forks.
  • Optionally, return the shredded chicken to the crockpot to mix with leftover sauce.

Notes
