  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional) Can be added for extra crunch
  • Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Rinse the Brussels sprouts under cold water to remove dirt, trim the ends, and slice them in half.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  • Toss the halved Brussels sprouts in the marinade until well coated.

Cooking

  • Arrange the Brussels sprouts cut-side down on a lined baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  • Roast in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until tender and golden brown, stirring halfway through.
  • Once done, sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top, if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

For best results, marinate sprouts for 30 minutes before roasting. Ensure Brussels sprouts are of uniform size for even cooking and do not overcrowd the baking tray.
