  • 10 oz shrimp (shelled, deveined, and tail-on) Fresh or properly frozen for the best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons oil (for cooking) Used for sautéing.
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced) Enhances flavor.
  • 3 tablespoons Thai sweet chili sauce For sweetness and heat.
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce Adjust for spice level.
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice Adds acidity.
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar For additional sweetness.
  • 1 pinch salt To season shrimp.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro or parsley leaves (for garnishing) For presentation.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Season the shrimp with a pinch of salt and a sprinkle of black pepper.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of oil.
  • Carefully add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and golden brown.
  • Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
  • Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the skillet and sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and pour in the Thai sweet chili sauce and chili garlic sauce.
  • Add lime juice and brown sugar, tossing until the shrimp are coated and the sauce caramelizes slightly.
  • Cook for another minute and garnish with chopped cilantro or parsley before serving.
