Ingredients

Marinade Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup sweet chilli sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Salmon

  • 4 pieces salmon fillets

Garnish

  • Fresh cilantro or green onions (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sweet chilli sauce, soy sauce, lime juice, olive oil, and minced garlic. Stir until well blended. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring each fillet is coated. Allow to marinate for at least 10 minutes.

Cooking

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking or set your grill to medium-high heat.
  • For baking, arrange the marinated salmon on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes. For grilling, cook each fillet for about 5-7 minutes per side, flipping carefully.
  • Halfway through cooking, brush the fillets with any remaining marinade.
  • Check for doneness by gently flaking the salmon with a fork; it should separate easily and reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Serving

  • Remove the salmon from the heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh cilantro or green onions and serve with rice or quinoa and fresh vegetables.

Notes

Use fresh salmon for best results. For added spice, include chili flakes in the marinade. Store leftovers in the refrigerator, where they will keep for up to two days. For longer storage, freeze the salmon for up to three months.
