Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lb baby carrots Fresh baby carrots are recommended for best flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon Adds warmth and depth of flavor.
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar Can adjust for desired sweetness.
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup Can substitute with honey for a different sweetness profile.
  • 1/3 cup butter, cut into cubes Ensure it's cubed for even melting.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by washing the baby carrots thoroughly. You can leave them whole if they are small, but if they are larger, consider cutting them in half to ensure even cooking.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine salt, ground cinnamon, brown sugar, and maple syrup. Stir until well-blended.

Cooking

  • Layer the cleaned carrots evenly at the bottom of the crockpot.
  • Drizzle the syrup mixture over the carrots, ensuring they are well-coated, and scatter the cubes of butter on top.
  • Cover the crockpot and choose your cooking temperature: set it to low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours. Stir occasionally if possible.
  • After cooking, check for doneness with a fork; the carrots should be tender but not mushy.

Serving

  • Serve warm, drizzling any remaining glaze over the carrots.
