Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy (about 3 to 5 minutes).
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the dough light and airy.

Baking

  • Use a piping bag or a cookie scoop to drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Leave enough space between each cookie.
  • Bake for about 10 to 12 minutes until they are lightly golden at the edges but remain soft in the center.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
